CBT for Cannabis Use Disorder

Educational content only. For dependence/withdrawal risk, seek clinician support. See our Medical Disclaimer.

Why CBT helps

  • Trigger mapping: time/place/people/activities that cue use.
  • Delay/urge surfing: ride cravings without acting; add friction to access.
  • Context change: avoid hot spots early; redesign routines; add alternative rewards.

Journaling prompts

  1. Trigger → urge (0–100) → coping used → outcome.
  2. Alternative reward within 15 minutes of craving was…
  3. One barrier I added (environmental tweak) and effect.

Use with support/accountability; see How to Journal.
