CBIT for Tics/Tourette (CBT‑adjacent)

Educational content only. CBIT is an evidence‑based behavioral therapy for tics. See our Medical Disclaimer.

CBIT components

  • Awareness training: detect premonitory urges and early signs.
  • Competing response: practice an incompatible movement/posture until urge passes.
  • Function‑based changes: adjust contexts that trigger tics when feasible.

Journaling prompts

  1. Urge intensity (0–100) → competing response duration → outcome.
  2. Context change that helped reduce urges.
  3. Support used (coaching/praise) and effect.

Use quick logs; see How to Journal.
